The audiobook narration by Gary Furlong was great. ![]() The mystery was a good one that I didn’t figure out, but it all made sense in the end, which is the best kind of mystery. The author did a good job showing Danny’s emotional struggles with his father being frozen in time in another town, his mother not being there for him, having PTSD from an accident, everyone treating him like he was fragile, etc. This author also created a cool concept with time in general in this world (which was kind of an alternate version of ours, set in the past), how it wasn’t really a natural thing but rather linked to the clock towers and clock spirits, so if a tower was broken in some way, time itself was broken in that town. The idea of clock spirits was so unique and interesting, and I don’t think I had ever read a romance between a person and the spirit of an inanimate object before. ![]()
